Users using this agent must plan to replace this hardware agent to a more recent one or to opt for a software or virtual appliance agent.

- End of Support: December 31st, 2023
Obkio will not provide technical support or any kind of updates on the X1001, following the End of Support date.
The kernel used on the CPU of this hardware agent is old and won’t be able to support the upcoming features and updates. The manufacturer of the hardware also deprecated the unit. Obkio has extended the usage of the X1001 as long as it could, but can’t continue in the future.
Yes, the agent should continue to be available in the app until it is deleted, but the agent won’t receive any kind of updates following the date, including bug or security fixes and new features. The agent, and the related information, will remain available in the application online as long as the user wishes. The agent will also continue to gather metrics. Obkio will not prevent users from using X1001 agents already in use following the end of support date, but will not provide assistance related to the agent nor provide any kind of update.
Users should replace their X1001 agent to a newer hardware agent version or to any kind of software or virtual appliance agent. The X1001 agent should be disposed of properly following local regulations.

There’re two ways, one where the agent is associated with a new hardware agent and the other where the agent is deleted and a new a software or virtual application agent is created as a replacement for the deprecated hardware agent.
If the agent is replaced by a new hardware agent:
- Make sure the new hardware agent is powered on and has Internet access.
- From the Obkio web application, click on the “Agent” tab, select your agent, click on the three dots icon located on the top right and click on “Dissociate Hardware agent”
- Click on the three dots icon located on the top right and click on “Associate Hardware agent”. The agent should come online shortly after.
If the agent is replaced by a new software or virtual application agent, the user can delete the agent using the three dots icon located on the top right of his agent page view and create the new software or virtual application agent following the usual agent creation process.
If the agent is deleted and replaced by a new software or virtual application agent, the related information with the previous hardware agent will be lost. The user can export the metrics from the hardware agent before deleting. No data will be lost if the agent is associated with a new hardware unit, as no agent is deleted from the application.
No, the end of support date is firm and won’t be postponed.
