Network Performance Monitoring

Network performance monitoring is one of the core products of Obkio's solution for IT Pros. Before going into more detail about how it works and how to measure network performance, make sure you understand what a Monitoring Agent is, as it is required to use this product.

Network performance can only be measured between two locations. For example, the performance between one branch office and the head office can be different than the performance between the same branch office and a data center. With Obkio's network performance monitoring solution, one Monitoring Agent must be installed at each location.

Once the monitoring agents are installed, the next step is to configure a Network Monitoring Template that will automatically create one or many Network Monitoring Sessions. The network performance metrics are then measured on the network monitoring sessions and available within the Network Monitoring Graphs.

Once network issues have been identified with the network performance monitoring features, the Traceroutes feature can be very useful to pinpoint the exact location of the issue to help you work on fixing the issue. Along with the traceroutes, Network Device Monitoring and application performance monitoring features can help as well.
