Obkio Vision License

The Obkio Vision License is a per-host license that is automatically generated by the Obkio Backend Systems and securely transferred by the Obkio Monitoring Agent to Obkio Vision.

The license parameters are based on the Subscription Plan but custom licenses are available with the Enterprise plan. To view the license parameters, click on View License at the bottom right of the Obkio Vision main page.

In the Obkio Vision License, there is an option named Number of Extra Destinations IPs. It's important to understand how Obkio Vision works to clearly understand what counts as an Extra Destination IP.

First thing, there are two types of destinations inside Obkio Vision:

• Destinations that are synced from the Network Monitoring Sessions
• Extra Destinations that are added manually by the users

So for this license parameter, only the extra destinations added manually are counted.

The second thing to understand is that a hostname can resolve to multiple IPs. For example, the hostname obkio.com resolves to 4 IPs. So even if a single destination has been added, 4 Extra Destinations IPs are being used by this destination. The number of IPs to resolve per destination can be changed with the Number of IPs to resolve options of each destination.

By default, to access Obkio Vision web interface, the URL http://localhost:9914 must be used. However, when there is a Cloud Remote Connection, a URL is available for each Obkio Vision instance so it can be accessed from the cloud. When Obkio Vision is used with an Obkio Agent (which is usually the case), a Cloud Remote Connection is available.

Each license has an expiration date. Note that the license that is transferred from the Obkio Agent is only valid for a few hours but it is automatically renewed by the agent.

The Enterprise Plan is custom based on the requirements of the customers.
