Obkio’s Monitoring Agents are specialized software designed to continuously monitor the performance and availability of your network, devices and applications, from LAN to WAN. Deployed across various network locations, these agents act as the eyes and ears of network admins.
Unlike traditional passive monitoring methods, Obkio’s agents take an active approach, gathering real-time data from network endpoints and transmitting it to a SaaS cloud platform for analysis. Operating silently in the background, they provide up-to-the-minute insights without placing a heavy load on network resources, offering a highly efficient, scalable solution for network visibility.

How Obkio’s Agent-Based Network Monitoring Software Works
Experience proactive agent-based monitoring, offering real-time insights that outshine traditional tools.
Obkio’s network performance monitoring leverages specialized agents deployed at key network locations – such as data centers, and head offices, as well as critical network devices like routers and switches and more.
Agents communicate together and continuously run tests such as Network Performance Monitoring (NPM), speed tests, traceroutes, Application Performance Monitoring (APM), and SNMP device monitoring. Agents exchange synthetic traffic (UDP packets) every 500 ms to actively track network metrics like latency, jitter, packet loss, and more. They simulate network activity in a non-intrusive way, ensuring privacy without collecting real user data (PII).
Data is securely transmitted via HTTPS to Obkio’s cloud SaaS platform, where it is processed and analyzed. Users can then access this data through a web or mobile app, providing clear, actionable insights to identify and resolve network issues proactively.
