Network Device Settings

To access the device settings (or edit page), go to the network device detail page and then click the Menu Icon at the top right then Edit.

• Name: A name to identify the network device.

• Hostname / IP: Hostname or IP Address of the network device.

• Collector Agent: Which agent will take charge of the SNMP polling. We recommend to select the agent closest to the device.

• Collector Frequency: The interval between two SNMP polling.

• Location: String to detail the Location of this network device.

• Contact Details: String to detail who is in charge of this network device. It could be an email, name or phone number.

• Device Type: Network device type, Router, Switch or Wifi AP. If the device is not exactly one of the three, use Router.

• SNMP Version: SNMP Version to use when communicating with the device (v1, v2c or v3). Learn more on SNMP Configuration.

• SNMP Community: SNMP Community to use when communicating with the device.

• SNMP Security Level: authPriv (default), authNoPriv, noAuthNoPriv

• SNMP Security Name: Often referred to as the username.

• SNMP Auth Protocol: SHA (better) or MD5

• SNMP Auth Password: Auth Password

• SNMP Privacy Protocol: AES (better) or DES

• SNMP Privacy Password: Privacy or Encryption Password

• SNMP Context Name: Context Name

• SNMP Context ID: Context ID

• SNMP Port: default 161

• SNMP Protocol: UDP (default), TCP, UDP IPv6, TCP IPv6

• Force 32-bits counters: Force to use 32-bits counters over 64-bits counters. Learn more at Supported Devices.

• Device Unreachability Severity: Default is Error. Severity level of the device offline notifications.

• Interface SNMP indexes to ignore: Learn more at Network Device Interfaces.
