At Obkio, we’re always working to enhance your experience with our app. Over the past few months, we’ve rolled out some exciting features and updates to improve the user experience and overall functionality of our app.
Here’s a rundown of what’s new and what you can expect in the near future!
We’ve revamped the sidebar to make navigation throughout our Network Performance Monitoring app easier than ever.
Expandable and Collapsible: You can now expand or collapse the sidebar for a cleaner look.
- When Expanded: Each tab displays a full title, and you can see a short description by hovering over it.
- When Collapsed: Access each tab using its corresponding icon.
We’ve simplified the saving process for dashboards so you can ensure that you don't lose any changes you've made.
- No More Save Button: Changes are now automatically saved, so you can focus on your work without interruption.
- Saving Status: A new status indicator confirms your changes have been saved, complete with a timestamp.
- Automatic Retry: If there’s an issue saving your dashboard, we’ll automatically attempt to save it again.
- Warning Message: If you try to leave the dashboard with unsaved changes, a prompt will remind you to confirm your action.
We’ve redesigned the dashboard menu within our app for better usability.
- Edit Dashboard Name: You can now edit your dashboard name directly from the dashboard view.
- Improved Dashboard List: The list features a search bar, a fresh new font, and a prominent "Create Dashboard" button.
- Simplified Configuration: All dashboard settings are now accessible through a single three-dots icon, replacing the previous gear icon.
- Bigger "Add Widget" Button: The "Add Widget" button is now larger and includes a helpful description.
Accessing help has never been easier! You can now access Obkio's Help Documentation directly within our app to get the help you need in seconds. You'll see relevant documentation based on whichever tab you're currently in.
- We’ve added embedded documentation directly within the app. You can access it through new tabs or existing icons.
- Close the documentation easily via the “Documentation” tab or the “X” icon in the top right corner.
In line with Microsoft’s recent announcement, we’ve updated our support for Teams notifications to help you configure Obkio's app notifications in Microsoft Teams.
- Transition to Teams Workflow: Since the “Teams Connector” is being deprecated, we’ve added support for notifications through “Teams Workflow.”
- For more details, check out our documentation on how to receive notifications in a Teams Channel via Teams Workflow.
Our Onboarding Videos are here! We've added a series of videos within each tab in Obkio's App to help you get started if you haven't configured anything within that specific tab. Along with the embedded documentation, these videos will help you configure Obkio faster and help you get the most out of your account.
- Embedded Onboarding Videos: To help you understand the platform better, we’ll display a video on various tabs that highlight key features and how they work.
- Onboarding Video Cateogry:, You can also check out our new Obkio NPM Onboarding Series videos on our website.
We’re excited to share some upcoming features that will make your Network Performance Monitoring experience even better!
We're simplifying the way you set up APM (Application Performance Monitoring) tests towards your favourite Unified Communications app by including the configuration directly in our Onboarding Wizard. So you can start monitoring UC apps like Microsoft Teams and Zoom right when you set up your Obkio account.
- Choose Your Application: When creating a new organization, you’ll have the option to select your preferred video conferencing application for default configuration. Microsoft Teams will be the default choice, but you can easily change it.
We’re excited to announce the future release of Obkio’s new Microsoft Teams Monitoring feature, which will be available as part of our Network Performance Monitoring tool!
As one of the most widely used communication apps, Microsoft Teams is essential for businesses, but it’s also the biggest resource hog and highly sensitive to network quality. Troubleshooting Teams issues can be a nightmare, with so many factors at play—from network problems to user errors, and even Microsoft-related issues. That’s where Obkio’s new feature comes in, providing end-to-end monitoring of Teams performance from every angle, so you can quickly identify and fix problems.
Agent-Based Monitoring: Obkio’s agents join Microsoft Teams meetings, exchanging real audio and video data to perform Network Performance Monitoring (NPM) tests from the agent's point of view.
End-to-End Performance Analysis: Our agents monitor performance between Microsoft and other agents, helping you detect if an issue is related to the user, the network, or Microsoft itself.
Microsoft API Integration: We connect to Microsoft’s API to download detailed call quality reports, offering insights from Microsoft’s perspective on meeting performance.
Comprehensive Issue Detection: By comparing data from both Obkio's agents and Microsoft's reports, we provide a complete view of performance, allowing for faster identification and resolution of issues.
Whether it’s a network issue or something on Microsoft’s end, Obkio will help you get to the bottom of it.
To go a step further in our Onboarding Process, we're also adding a list of steps to follow as you configure your Obkio account. The checklist will appear in all new Obkio accounts, and will help you understand what next steps you should take, and what new features you should discover.
- Guided Setup: New users will receive guidance on how to maximize their configuration, ensuring they make the most of Obkio’s capabilities.
Searching through Obkio's app is also getting simpler. You'll now be able to search through your account to easily find what you're looking for. This will be especially helping for accounts with multiple Agents, network locations, devices, dashboards and more.
- Search Functionality: We’ll be adding search bars to various lists, including agents, network performance, network devices, and application performance across different tabs.
We’re excited about these updates and the ones coming soon, and we hope you are too! Our team is here to make sure you have the best experience with network monitoring. Keep an eye out for more improvements, and if you have any questions or feedback, don’t hesitate to reach out.
