Device monitoring continues to be a critical feature for many of our customers, and the way it’s used has evolved significantly. In the early days, most businesses monitored a single agent and one device per site. But today, with growing network complexity and market changes, many of our users are relying on Obkio as their primary, all-in-one network monitoring tool.
We’ve seen a major shift: Customers now want to monitor all devices across their sites, and the ratio of agents to monitored devices has increased dramatically. You spoke, and we listened.
Obkio has always developed its product in close alignment with customer needs. As demand grew, we knew it was time to pivot and better support this new reality.
In addition, with many legacy device monitoring solutions being acquired by private equity firms—and often losing their customer focus—we’ve heard from users actively looking for modern, reliable alternatives. We’re here to fill that gap.
Here’s what’s changing with our SNMP Network Device Monitoring feature:
More included devices: We’ve increased the number of devices included in every plan (see pricing tables above).
Lower cost for extra devices: The price per additional device has been reduced by 50%.
And we’re not stopping here. More updates and improvements to device monitoring are already in the works. Stay tuned!
Traceroutes remain one of the most powerful tools for network troubleshooting, and Obkio Vision: Visual Traceroute Tool has been one of our most popular features since its launch. Given how essential it’s become, we wanted to make it even easier to use and more accessible than ever.
Based on user feedback, we heard two key things:
Obkio Vision is incredibly valuable.
Some users didn’t know it existed or wished it were easier to find and use.
So we listened.
Obkio Vision is now redesigned and fully integrated into the Obkio app. Traceroute results can now be added directly to your dashboards, with a fresh, modern user experience that makes analyzing traceroute data more intuitive than ever.
You can now:
- Add traceroute results directly to your dashboards
- Enjoy a new, modern user experience built for speed and simplicity.
- Access Vision more easily, right where you need it
This update isn’t just about design—it’s also foundational for what’s coming next. This integration sets the stage for our upcoming Automatic Correlation feature, helping you detect and troubleshoot network issues even faster.
Currently, Obkio Vision keeps 4 days of traceroute history. But in the coming weeks, we’re extending that significantly:
- 6 months of retention for the Basic Plan
- 36 months of retention for Premium Plans
We're also enhancing our extra destination feature, which allows you to run traceroutes towards IPs or hosts that can’t be monitored via traditional methods like deploying an Agent or using SNMP. This includes devices like servers, printers, UPS units, and more, so you can get visibility where you couldn’t before.
Behind the scenes, our team has been hard at work improving the core of Obkio’s technology—our Monitoring Agents.
We’re excited to introduce Monitoring Agent V.2, a new and improved version of our Monitoring Agent software designed to power the future of Obkio. While the upgrade has been seamless for our customers, it brings major benefits under the hood.
This update includes:
Optimizations to support future features, like Microsoft Teams Monitoring, Automatic Correlation, and the integration of Obkio Vision.
Seamless agent updates, reducing the need for manual intervention
Improved security features, ensuring your monitoring setup stays protected and reliable
These enhancements allow us to scale faster and continue building the innovative tools our users rely on, without disrupting your current setup.
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of one of our most requested features: Microsoft Teams Monitoring, which is now available in beta.
With Microsoft Teams being one of the most widely used collaboration tools in the world, we knew this was a must-have. Businesses rely on Teams to connect with customers, colleagues, and partners, yet meeting audio-video quality is extremely sensitive to network performance. When issues arise, users feel the impact immediately and often escalate complaints to IT teams.
The challenge? IT teams are frequently left in the dark, with little visibility into what’s causing the problem. As a result, Microsoft often gets the blame when, in reality, 99% of Microsoft Teams issues aren’t on Microsoft’s end.
That’s exactly why we built this feature.
With Obkio’s new agent-based Microsoft Teams Monitoring, our Monitoring Agents will join Teams meetings, exchange real audio and video data, and perform network performance monitoring tests, all from the Agent’s point of view. This includes monitoring performance:
Between Microsoft and your environment
Between different Monitoring Agents
Across your full network path, covering up to 99% of the call path.
The result? End-to-end visibility into every part of your Teams experience so you can detect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues faster than ever before.
We’re continuing to enhance this feature and are working closely with Microsoft to finalize an agreement that will allow us to handle the deployment of Office 365 licenses on your behalf—no extra steps needed from your side.
