The Windows Network Monitor is in the form of a Software Agent, which can be deployed on a Windows operating system. The Agent works with Windows versions 8 and later.

The Software Agent is easy to install and accessible for most users. It is also available for Linux and Docker.

Obkio’s previous Windows compatible Network Monitoring Agent was built and delivered by Linux, and used WSL 2 as its backend. After thoroughly testing the Agent and receiving feedback, we decided to transition to an Agent built solely on Windows.

Our improved Windows Agent provides a much quicker installation process, and is more user-friendly than ever for all our users working with Windows.

If you’d still like to install Obkio on WSL 2, we recommend installing a Linux distribution (such as Ubuntu or Debian) and deploying our Software Agent available for Linux, well as Windows and Docker.
