Introducing Agent Modes

Today we are introducing the Agent Modes to help our users to configure the client / server relation between monitoring agents. This article describes the differences between the old settings and the new one.

This article refers to old settings that are no longer available in the App and it should be read only by users used to these old settings. If you are a new user, we do not recommend you continue reading this article to avoid confusion in the agent settings.

Generators and Reflectors

  • The Reflector is now the Server
  • The Generator is now the Client
  • The Generator Preference is now Client Selection Preference

Accept Incoming Public Connection
Accept Incoming Public Connection

The old Accept Incoming Public Connection setting which allows an agent to receive connections from outside the private networks now translates to the Private Internet Server Agent Mode.

Previous Default Mode

The default Agent Mode for the previsouly created is Private Server.

The new Client Only agent mode
The new Client Only agent mode

The new Client Only has no equivalent with the old settings. Previously, to force an agent to be the generator/client, the Generator Preference has to be increasing over the value of the other agents.
